Thomas Frank "Tommy" Coppinger, 48, died at his home in Port Orchard, Washington of heart failure on October 12, 2006. He was born in Bremerton, Washington on May 19, 1958 to Walter Frank & Shirley Rose (Sayers) Coppinger. Tommy graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1976 and married Sally Kay Balter on November 8, 1980 in Bremerton. Mr. Coppinger was a vested journeyman carpenter and a certified commercial construction superintendent. He worked for Grandquist Construction in Port Orchard for 17 years, Straightline Construction as a Superintendent for 2 years, and MGC Construction. He spent most of his years in commercial and government construction. Tommy volunteered in Pee Wee football & wrestling, girls fastpitch, and FFA. He coached all ages of baseball and was announcer and flagger for motorcross. He volunteered in many community construction projects. Surviving are his wife Sally; sons Levi Thomas Coppinger of Port Orchard and Kyle Joseph Coppinger of Germany; daughter, Katie Rose(Coppinger)Ulrigg of Port Orchard; father Walter "Frank" Coppinger of Port Orchard; brothers Ron Coppinger and Mark Coppinger, both of Port Orchard and Tony Coppinger of Belfair; granddaughter Kyla Rose Ulrigg; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Rose (Sayers) Smith. Inurnment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2006 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Westside Baptist Church in Bremerton. Memorial donations may be made to Tom Coppinger Memorial at any Washington Mutual Bank.
