Thomas Joseph Ecker, 58 of Port Orchard, Washington died at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton on October 27, 2005. He was born on February 23, 1947 in Helena, Montana to Francis Melroy & Eleanor (MacDonald) Ecker. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Helena in 1965 and Helena Vo-Tech College in 1985. Thomas married Nancy Lea Morris on December 4, 1971 in Helena. Thomas worked as an Electronics Technician for 12 years at the Naval Undersea Weapons Engineering Station, Keyport, Washington. He was a Copier Technician in Fife, Washington for 5 years. He was a Carpenter for 3 years and also worked at the Veterans Administration for 4 years in Helena. Thomas served in the U. S. Navy from 1964 to 1970. Tom loved watching baseball and was a big New York Yankee fan all his life. He was also his son's baseball coach. He was an avid reader, especially of history books, and also enjoyed traveling. He loved his family and as a devoted father he took pride in his three sons' accomplishments. Tom was a Catholic and attended Catholic schools. He belonged to the Helena Jaycees as a young adult. Surviving are his wife Nancy; sons Eric & Brendon, both of Seattle and Kevin (Norma)of Santa Clarita, California; mother Eleanor Ecker of Lake Havasu, Arizona; brother Robert (Carolyn) Ecker of Townsend, Montana; sisters Sue (Bill) Sokolich of Snoqualmie, Washington, Donna Stradley of Lacey, Washington, and Barbara Piekar of Lake Havasu, Arizona; granddaughter Lia Ecker; in-laws Dick & Judy Morris, and special friends MJ & Jim Lockemy. He was preceded in death by his father and grandmother Ina MacDonald. Memorial Mass will be at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 12 Noon.
