On March 11, 2011, Thomas E. Kiso passed away peacefully in his home in Port Orchard, WA after a brief illness. Tom was born on September 8, 1942, to Albert and Elinor (Thornton) Kiso in Tacoma, Washington. He grew up in Eatonville and Mineral and graduated from Morton High School in 1961. After high school, Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he trained as a dental technician which was his trade throughout his life. In later years, he successfully owned and operated his own dental lab, Crafty Hands, in Port Orchard, WA. Tom was a gifted craftsman who loved music, sailing, wooden boats, geography and politics, and was a wealth of facts, information and often passionate opinions. Survivors include a son Kevin Kiso, grandson Aleister Kiso, sister Susan (Dustin) Frederick of Bothell, sister Margery Kiso of Puyallup, step brother Fred Steinaway of Ottumwa, IA, as well as nieces, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins. Tom was truly loved and respected by his many friends and will be deeply missed. There will be a celebration of Tom's life at the Mineral Lake Event Center (the old Mineral Grade School) in Mineral, WA, on Sunday, April 17th at 1:00pm.
