Thomas Andrew Prendiville

Thomas Andrew Prendiville, born to Hannah and John Prendiville of Castleisland, Ireland on Nov. 29, 1927, went home to be with our Lord on Jan. 11, 2013.
Tom was a hardworking farmer for the first 35 years of his life, working on his family's dairy farm in Ireland. In 1972 he met the love of his life, Kathleen Shaughnessy. Tom then left the farm and moved to Richmond, Calif., where the couple married in 1973 and started a family.
Tom was an honorable and proud man who lived for his wife and four children, working hard and never asking anyone for a hand. Tom was a handyman always building or fixing something, often having the neighbors asking for him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Prendiville of Gortglass, Ireland; sisters Bridie Prendiville of Gortglass, Ireland and Sheila Power of Channel Island. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen Prendiville and four children: Hannah Prendiville of Bremerton, Bridget Hoggard (Daniel) of Port Orchard, Patrick Prendiville (Angie) of Lake Bay and Alanna Buchholtz (Curtis) of Bremerton; eight grandchildren: Asha, Jenae, Darien, Donovan, Devery, Payton, Thomas Andrew II and Fiona; brothers, Sean Prendiville of Richmond, Calif. and Paddy Prendiville of New Zealand; sisters, Nora Stanton of Dixon, Calif. and Joan Murphy of Ireland.
The family would also like to give a special thank you to lifelong friends, Mary and Steve Rudy, Jan and Don Preston, and the doctors and nurses of Harrison Memorial Hospital for taking such wonderful care of our Dad.
Service will be held Friday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at St Gabriel Church in Port Orchard.
