Thomas Steven Wright was born in Bremerton, WA on June 19th, 1992, the firstborn son to Steven and Katherine Wright. He was raised in Olalla with his three siblings. He attended St. Nicholas Catholic School, King’s West (Crosspoint Academy) and St. Martin’s University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in chemistry. He had nearly completed his master’s degree in data analytics at the time of his passing. Tom worked at Kitsap 911 providing tech support to dispatchers and emergency service providers across the county, before his health impacted his ability to work. He was proud to be using his skills to help the community and planned to return to public service after completing his degree. Tom was an Eagle Scout, a voracious reader, an expert in all things computers, a proud godfather, a devoted cat owner, a prayerful man of faith, a sharer of great memes, and a loving older brother and son. He was soft-spoken, intelligent, humble and thoughtful. He could also be sarcastic and an excellent debater, often playing devil’s advocate. Tom was shrewd, clever, and funny, which made him a great storyteller. He enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, longboarding and any opportunity to be in nature. Tom enjoyed playing video games and had various weekly game nights with friends both locally and around the world. He dreamed of traveling and thoroughly enjoyed what trips he was able to make. He suffered from chronic migraines, sleep apnea and other complex unexplained illnesses for most of his life and was deeply empathetic to anyone experiencing health challenges. He was a gentle, quiet support to those around him and he will be deeply missed. He died peacefully in his sleep at his Bremerton home on October 25th, 2024. He was 32 years old.
He leaves behind his two beloved cats: Peanut and Kitsap. He is survived by his grandmothers: Jean Wright and Mary K Irwin; his parents: Steven and Katherine Wright; his siblings: Mary (Christopher) Leu, John (Emma Barnes) Wright, and Margaret (Jonathan) Edwards; his godson Henry Leu and niece Katherine Leu.
