Thora Aksdal

Thora K. Aksdal, 99, died in Bremerton, Washington on August 19, 2000. She was born in Etne, Norway on April 5, 1901 to Thorsten & Anna (Brendeland) Aksdal. She graduated from Framnes-Folke High School and Jr. College in Hardanger, Norway. Thora married Sten A. Aksdal in Seattle, Washington on October 10, 1925. He preceded her in death in 1968.Mrs. Aksdal was a homemaker and was the last surviving Charter Member of the ''Sons of Norway'', Oslo Lodge in Bremerton. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, also in Bremerton.Surviving are son Arthur Aksdal of Bremerton; daughter Alma Bockelie of Bremerton; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.Visitation will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Friday, August 25th from 10am to 5pm and on Saturday, August 26th from 9am to Noon. Memorial Service will be at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Bremerton on Friday, September 1, 2000 at 1:00pm. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton.
