Tina Marie Foley, 75, of Allyn, WA went home to be with the Lord on January 5th, 2024 at St. Michael's Hospital in Silverdale. She was born on February 17th, 1948 in Seattle to Christine Marie (Metzger) Foley and James Theodore Foley.
Tina grew up in the Bryant/View Ridge neighborhood in northeast Seattle where she met her lifelong friends Jeanie, Connie, Elaine, and Linda. As a child, Tina was bold. She loved riding horses, the TV show Bonanza, vacationing at the dude ranch, and anything Western. Raised by her mother, she developed an independent spirit early in life, obtaining her driver's license as soon as she turned 16. Growing up in Seattle, she became a master parallel parker. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1966, going on to WSU and then CWU, from where she graduated in 1971 with a degree in Education and a teaching certificate. Years later, she reobtained her teaching certificate after attending night classes at the University of Washington.
Tina worked as a substitute teacher in Enumclaw, WA for a brief period, then for the FAA in Auburn, but she spent the bulk of her career working for NOAA near Magnuson Park, from where she retired in 2010. She was a long-time member of University Presbyterian Church in Seattle and, later, of The Bridge Church in Belfair.
In 2016, Tina moved from Mill Creek to Allyn to be closer to her beloved grandchildren, Houston and Jillian. She loved watching her kids' and grandkids' sports games and performances, sewing/quilting, cardmaking, and the color purple. Her friends enjoyed her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, which she inherited from her mother.
She was preceded in death by her mother Christine Foley and aunt Doris and uncle Jack Ramels. She is survived by her sons Scott (Kim) and Eric Studerus, her two grandchildren, and cousins Steven (Jackie) and Brad Ramels.
Tina was beloved by her friends, family, neighbors, and church families and will be greatly missed.
Service will be held on Sunday, February 4th at 2 PM at The Bridge Church in Belfair, WA.
"I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 121)
