Tommy Pritchard of Port Orchard died on August 31 at Harrison Memorial Hospital from pancreatic and liver cancer.He was born on November 9, 1930 in Dinuba, California to William T. and Laura V. Pritchard.His family moved to Manchester in 1942. He attended school in the South Kitsap area, graduating from South Kitsap High School in 1949.Tommy and Bonnie Personett were married on November 24, 1950, celebrating 52 years of marriage in November 2002.He was employed at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Naval Architect Technician for 38 years, retiring in 1987.In addition to his employment at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, he was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, enlisting in November 1953, and was honorably discharged in November 1962, after having achieved the rank of Platoon Sargeant.After retiring from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Tommy went on to work for General Dynamics Electric Boat Division at Bangor as a Project Engineering Assistant and continued his employment there until the time of his death.He is survived by his wife Bonnie of the family home, son Michael and daughter-in-law Karen, six grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Andrew, Kailey, Treena and Shani of Anchorage, Alaska, and daughter Linda and son-in-law Tim Mullins, and grandson John of Gorst, as well as other extended family and friends.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday September 8 at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., also at Rill Chapel.Private interment will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Harrison Hospital Foundation to benefit the Cancer Care Fund in the memory of Tommy Pritchard. It is hoped that these donations will assist the nursing staff to continue their unselfish efforts to provide quality care and support to those persons affected by cancer.
