Let there be a gentle soul with a caring heart, encouraging words, a warm laugh and helping hands and there you have Toni. Toni passed away after a long hard fought battle of 14 years with cancer. Toni leaves behind a loving family of, husband Skeets, son Aaron and his wife Sara, granddaughters Emma and Clara, Brother Stephen and his life partner Sandra, Brother Ron and his wife Noreen, Brothers Mike and Troy, Sister Colette and her husband David, Sister Judy and her Husband Gordon, Mother Ellen Lorraine, Father William, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family members.
Toni was a lifetime Washington State Resident and long-time Kitsap County resident, and graduated from Central Kitsap High School.
Toni married her high school sweetheart, John Probert, who passed away suddenly in 2002. Toni and John had their son Aaron in February of 1981.
Toni’s love for children and for helping others enabled her to flourish as a para educator for the Pioneer School District.
Toni’s involvement with Kitsap County Fair and Rodeo from an early age further fueled her love for horses and fair life. She also became involved with the fairgrounds thru her 4-H participation and as event coordinator for the spring and fall home shows. Toni also worked W.S.U. and Kitsap County Extension office at the Norm Dicks Building assisting in several departments. Toni’s final job before retiring due to her illness was again helping those in need at the Kitsap County WIC office.
Toni had a tremendous love for life, for family, for friends, and for children. She loved horses, the ocean, long walks on the beach and gardening. She collected sea glass, antique kitchen ware and dishes and anything to do with outhouses. Toni was a fantastic navigator and loved planning trips on out of the way routes to places all over the western state.
Toni had an immense love for her grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, for her family members and for her countless number of friends.
We may have lost an exceptional human being, but the angels above gained back one of their own. The mark that Toni has left on our hearts has made the world a much better place.
