Verna Jackson

Verna May Jackson - a former long-time resident of Port Orchard and recently residing in California - died December 12, 2003 in San Diego, California. She was born January 8, 1923 in Louisiana to Alexander and Edna (Cribb) Brown. Verna married Raymond Stanley Jackson February 14, 1942 in Port Orchard, Washington. He died in 1967. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1940. Verna worked as a realtor with Crown Real Estate in Port Orchard. She was a member of Port Orchard Eagles. She, also, was a long-time member of First Christian Church in Port Orchard. Verna is survived by son - Stanley Ray Jackson (& wife, Patricia) of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters - Penny Wenger (& husband, Chuck) of Ramona, California, Cathy Dawson (& husband, Colin) of Ramona, California; brothers - Sonny (Brownie) Brown, Bob Brown and Dick Brown - all of Port Orchard; 10 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 12, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Lane Memorial Park. Memorial Donations may be made to: Salvation Army P.O.
