Verna Virginia Miller died of a stroke July 17, 2002 in Bremerton, Washington. She was 70.She was born October 15, 1931 in Broomfield, Colorado to Charles and Blanche (Bowen) Welch.She graduated from Henderson High School of Henderson, Nevada in 1949. She also attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah; and graduated from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 1969. She received her Teaching Degree.Verna was an instructor in Radiation Control at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 10 years and retired in 1989. Before Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, she was a homemaker-elementary school teacher. She taught for 10 years. Verna enjoyed family history research; and, was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Port Orchard, Washington.She is survived by her husband Stanley Miller of Port Orchard, Washington; daughters: Gerilynn Bingham of Seattle, Katherine Delago of Port Orchard, Washington, Pamela Culley of Federal Way, Washington, Jan Russell of Belfair, Washington, Mary James of Port Orchard, Washington; step-daughters Claudine Craig of Missouri, Cheryl Fish of Texas; sister, Eleanora Leavitt of Las Vegas, Nevada; and 25 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, Washington.
