Veta Hammer

Veta F. Hammer of Longbranch, Washington died January 9, 2004 at the Port Orchard Care Center. She was 67. She was born May 18, 1936 in Wheatland, Missouri to Noah and Alta (Cates) Breshears. Veta married Aubrey Hammer October 7, 1961 in Reno, Nevada. She worked as a certified Nursing Assistant for Port Orchard Care Center for 25 years. She also worked 5 years for various nursing homes in Port Orchard before Port Orchard Care Center. Veta was an avid gardener and cook. She is survived by her husband - Aubrey Hammer of the Longbranch, Washington family home; son - Joe Hammer of Port Orchard, Washington; brothers - Bobby and Patty Breshears of Port Orchard, Washington; sister - Maxine Kentner (& husband, Delmar) of Grand Coulee, Washington; 2 grandchildren (Savanah and Hayley Hammer). She is preceded in death by son - Jeffrey M. Hammer. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 1:00 p.m.
