Vincent C. Harms, 82 of Port Orchard, Washington died September 18, 2000 at his home. He was born March 18, 1918 in White Lake, S. Dakota to Harvey & Frieda (Ingenthorn) Harms. Vincent attended a one room school in Sand Creek, Wisconsin.He was a PFC in the US Army from 1941 until 1945, during WW II and in the Pacific Theather. Vince received the Combat Infantry men's badge and the American Defense Metal. He later married Patricia R. King on November 16, 1945 in Council, Idaho.Vincent was a mechanic at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard shop 38, code 434 for 16 years where he retired in 1978. He was a member of the American Legion Post 30 in Port Orchard for 55 years and a member of the N.A.R.F.E.Surviving are his wife Patricia, 3 daughters Kathleen & her husband Carl Brashar of Port Orchard, Judi & Ken Edwards of Port Orchard, and Lori & Mike Scott of Suquamish, Washington. 3 brothers Harold of Colfax, Wisconsin, Jack of Madison, Wisconsin and Dennis of Eagle River, Alaska. sister Eileen Bartelt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 7 grandchildren and 2 great-granchildren. Vince was preceded in death by son Michael, sister Dorothy Spaulding and grandson David Folger.Funeral sevices will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church Friday September 22, 2000 11:00 AM in Port Orchard, Wasington with Interment at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
