Viola Mcdonald

Viola E. 'Vi' McDonald passed away May 9, 2009. She was born on October 3, 1933 in Ironwood, IL, the daughter of Carl and Inez (Saari) Synkelmo. Upon graduation from high school she received a scholarship to attend the Henry Ford School of Nursing at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She later worked in Madison, WI, San Jose, CA and Great Lakes, IL. While at Great Lakes, she met and married her husband, Don McDonald in 1965. She settled in the Port Orchard area in 1970. She was active in a number of church functions and the order of Eastern Star of which she was a Past Matron. She is survived by her husband Don; daughter Debra Howie (John); sons Brian McDonald (Andrea) and David McDonald; 4 grandchildren Eric Howie and John Howie III, Leta and Libbie McDonald and 1 great-grandson Zacery Howie. She will be dearly missed. Memorial Service will be at First Lutheran Community Church in Port Orchard on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 1:00 pm.
