Violet Fay George

April 2, 1939 — November 20, 2021

Violet Fay George was born on April 2, 1939 in Bremerton, Washington to Frederick John Schardt and Dorothy Evangeline Toliver. She passed away at home on November 20, 2021 surrounded by her family. Fay spent her childhood in Port Orchard, attending grade school at Olalla Elementary, and moving on to Orchard Heights Middle School. She graduated from South Kitsap High School. Fay met her future husband John, known as Larry, in elementary school and they were married shortly after high school. They had a long and loving marriage.

She worked for the South Kitsap School system as a cook and noon-aid and loved being able to provide good food and conversation for all of the students. Her proudest accomplishment though, was raising four children, Danny, John Jr., Patty and Kathy. Her love for her family was a constant throughout her lifetime. Some of her favorite activities included camping, fishing, baking, making paper dolls with her girls, and bowling. She was an avid collector of cookie jars, sporting a collection of over 150 jars! Fay loved making baked goodies for her family, spending many hours working on them!

During her life, Fay loved taking art and baking classes, working on drawing and painting, as well as new cake recipes. Some of her favorite things were red roses, lilacs, and dolls.

Fay is preceded in death by her oldest son, Danny; parents, Frederick and Dorothy; brother Roy; her dogs, Freckles, Farrah, Snoopy, and Molly. She is survived by her husband of 62 years John; son, John, Jr.; daughters Patty (Mark) and Kathy; ten grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren.
