Virginia Jones

Virginia Jones of Port Orchard June 13, 1924 to Nov. 12, 2007 Ginny died at Harrison Medical Center of natural causes surrounded by her family. She was born to Iva and Victor Cruz in White River, South Dakota and moved to Port Orchard at the age of 8. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1942 and married Tom Jones in 1945. They were involved with the Silverdale fire department for many years and she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, heading the Burned-Out Family fund. She was a nurse's aide at Bremerton Convalescence Center for 20 years before retiring. They spent their winters in Yuma, AZ for 25 years where they made many good friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and son, Dennis. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara May (Daryl) and Jan Lucas (Jim); and daughter-in-law, Polly Collings; 11 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no funeral services.
