Vitalina Lloyd, 74 of Port Orchard, died at Port Orchard Care Center on April 17, 1999. She was born October 2, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey to Candido & Gzaura (Lopez) Barbosa. She was raised in Newark and attended Catholic schools there. She married Ken Lloyd on April 11, 1944 in New York. He preceded her in death in 1993.Vitalina worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard during World War II and also taught English to Portugese sailors. More recently she was the housekeeper and cook for the Catholic parish at St. Gabriel Catholic Church and then at St. Vincent de Paul in Port Orchard. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and the church's Harmony Club also serving as cook for the club; Harper Garden Club; Dr. A.G. Allen Orthopedic Guild; St. Vincent de Paul Society; and TOPS.She is survived by her granddaughter Amanda Lloyd of Woodbridge, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her son Richard in 1997 and grandson Greg Lloyd in 1991.Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 22, 1999 at 10:00 am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Interment will follow at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul in Port Orchard.
