Walter Granquist

December 5, 1913 — June 28, 2008

Walter F. Granquist, 94 of Port Orchard passed away June 28, 2008 in Olympia.  He was born December 5, 1913 in Burnaby, Vancouver, Canada to John Agnar Edwin & Edla Kristina (Engdahl) Granquist.  He graduated from South Kitsap HS in 1933.  He married Dorothy Jane Hower on June 27, 1941 in Port Orchard. Mr. Granquist was a contractor for 40 years and a business owner in Port Orchard for 20 years.  He was a member of the Kitsap Saddle Club for over 30 years and served as their Treasurer.  He enjoyed gardening and farming. Surviving are his wife and daughters Joyce Adams of Olympia, Sally Levin of Portland, OR, and Nancy Granquist of Bremerton; brother John of Seattle; 6 grandchildren; & 6 great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by daughter Betty Southwick, brothers Carl & Lloyd, and sister Agnita Cherry. Inurnment will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.  Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:30pm on July 8th at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.  Memorial donations may be made to Kitsap Mental Health, Attn:  Executive Director Roe Roszak, 5455 Almira Drive NE, Bremerton WA 98311.
