WALTER H. WEBBER Born May 27, 1919, at Waterville, Washington, to Francis and Augusta (Helstrom) Webber, Walter passed away May 6, 2004, at his home in Belfair of natural causes. He moved to Tacoma in 1939, where he began employment at Puget Sound National Bank in 1940. Walter was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 21st Air Force in the South Pacific. He retired from Puget Sound National Bank in May 1984 as Vice President and Manager of Puyallup Branch. He married Betty Spangler in July 1949, while in Tacoma, later moving to Fife and Puyallup until retirement when they moved to Belfair. His family includes son Ken and wife Debby, and daughter Sherry and husband Richard Ottele; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Walter was a long-time member of Lutheran Memorial Church in Tacoma before joining Christ Lutheran Church in Belfair. He was a director of Western Washington Fair Association and a prior director of Good Samaritan Hospital, Tacoma-Pierce County American Red Cross, American Institute of Banking, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, and a charter member of the Daffodilians. Viewing will be on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Rill Funeral Home, 1152 Mitchell Avenue, Port Orchard. A memorial service will be held on May 12, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Belfair.
