A memorial service for Wanda Lee Blumenthal, 83, of Bremerton, WA who died July 14, 2011 will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday July 23, at Faith Fellowship Church in Silverdale. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 20, from 6:00 to 7:00PM at Rill’s Life Tribute Center. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. Wanda was born Nov. 28, 1927 in Bennett County, SD. A true Cowgirl, she loved the outdoors, riding horses, fishing, gardening and the simple life growing up on her Daddy’s ranch/farm. Wanda and her six siblings were raised in their home in Tuthill, SD. Wanda attended college in Valentine, NE, graduating with a teaching degree. Following college, Wanda taught grades 1 through 12 in a little one room school house in her home town of Tuthill. Wanda married Clifford Blumenthal from Hainsworth, NE on Dec. 21, 1946. Following a few years of successful farming and ranching they were called into the ministry and left the farm life she loved. As a minister’s wife she traveled throughout South Dakota, Canada and Washington State. She was an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family so much and there was nothing that she wouldn’t do for them. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years. She is survived by daughters, Judy Ostby, Jerry Mitchell, Janie Godden, JoNell Stanton and sons, “J”Mac Blumenthal, Clifford Lynn Blumenthal. She had 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
