Wanda Sims

Wanda Lynne Sims, 58, died at her home in Allyn, WA on August 15, 2009.  She was born June 2, 1951 in Oshawa, Ontario Canada to Bernard & Jocelyn (Little) Matthews.  She graduated from North Mason HS in Belfair in 1969 & Seattle University with a B.S. in Psychology.  She married Paul Sims on April 30, 1988 in Lake Bay, WA. Wanda worked for 16 years as a Social Worker for Washington State, retiring in 2002.  She was also a Sales Director & Consultant for Mary Kay for 15 years, forever enriching women's lives. Wanda enjoyed decorating, with a special love and joy for creating a Christmas wonderland in their home for people to come and enjoy.  She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a seminary teacher, in the Relief Society, and serving in the temple for the past 5 years. Surviving are husband Paul; daughters Leslie Christensen of Salt Lake City, UT & Tracy (Mark) of Bremerton; mother Jocelyn Matthews; sisters Laurice, Cheryl & Charlene (Jeff), all of Sequim, WA; grandchildren Pearl Lynne, Dalton Ellis, Brendan David & Emmett Paul.  She was preceded in death by her father Bernard C. Matthews and granddaughter Victoria June Freckleton. Funeral service  at LDS Church in Belfair, 40 E Belwood Lane, at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 with visitation prior to the service from 1 to 2:30pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation www.MKACF.org .
