Wanda Weekly

Wanda Lee Weekly, 82, a resident of Port Orchard, Died August 14, 2010 of natural causes. She was born May 28, 1928 in Elmo, Kansas to Homer and Alma Ruth (McPhee) DeNio. She attended high school and college (where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi) in Lawrence, KS. She married W. Bob Weekly in Lawrence on February 3, 1952, he preceded her in death. Wanda worked as a Convention Coordinator at Las Vegas Convention Center for 30 plus years retiring in 2003. Her greatest passion was her interest in people. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Flinn and Shelley Sweglar, both of Washington and one son Dana Keith of Florida; brother Keith DeNio of New Mexico; four grandchildren Summer Hawkins, Justin Sweglar, Brendon Sweglar and Kasamurea Dugger; six great-grandchildren Alyssa, Nyah, Logan, Burgen, Trenton and Taylor. Celebration service will be Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 am at Palm Mortuary, Palm Valley View Cemetery, 7600 South Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123, (702) 464-8500.
