Warren D. Howard, 90, a resident of Olalla, died of natural causes in Bremerton on August 12, 2010. He was born In Cordova, Alaska to Joseph and Gladys (Smith) Howard on July 19, 1920. He graduated from Ellensburg HS in 1940 and later obtained a BS in Naval Engineering. He married Jacquelyn Myers in Bremerton on April 8, 1946. Warren served in the US Army from 1940 to 1945 and was awarded a Distinguished Unit Badge. He worked as a Naval Architect in VA for 35 years retiring in 1975. He continued working in the shipbuilding industry for Electric Boat in Tacoma and various other companies. He was a member of the VFW, Eagles, NARF, Elks and the American Legion. He loved working his 5 acre property, built 2 homes and enjoyed being with family and friends. His particular hobby was seeking out every obscure pizza place, pool hall and beer joint in the Pacific NW along with a willing gang of cronies and geezers. He is survived by son Joseph Howard; daughters Mary Schurr (Dave) of Olalla and Charlene Lowe (Bruce) of SD; 5 grandchildren Jason, Ryan, Andrea, Jael and Luke and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister Dundee Brooks.
