Wesley E. Gardner of Bremerton, Washington died April 11, 2004 in Bremerton following a long illness. He was 61. He was born February 26, 1943 in San Francisco, California to James W. and Elsie J. (Van Horn) Gardner. Wesley graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1961. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 - 1969. He was an E-5 and served 2 tours in Viet Nam as UDT Seals. Wesley worked for 20 years as a rigger for various D.O.D. installations - retiring in 1989. He was a VFW and American Legion member; an avid hunter and fisherman. He was Protestant. Wesley was survived by his father - James W. Gardner of Baldwin, Mississippi; his mother - Elsie J. (Van Horn) Gardner of Bremerton, Washington; son - Michael Gardner of Bremerton,Washington; brother - Steve Gardner of Bremerton, Washington; sister - Jackie Lowe (& husband, Daniel) of Silverdale, Washington; 2 nieces - Jennifer and Rachel and a great nephew - Daniel. A memorial service is to be announced at a later date.
