Wilfred Alwyn Cassell, born May 22, 1934 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, to parents Wilfred and Carrie Cassell (Morley), passed away on September 19, 2023, in Gig Harbor, Washington. He had been living in Port Orchard, Washington for the past two years. His wife of nearly 65 years, Mary Aleda Cassell (Timmins), grandson Christopher Bradley Cassell, and his parents precede him in death. Surviving him are his sister Barbara Goodfellow of Camillus, New York, his three sons, Dr. Robert (Cynthia), David (Dena), and Steven (Cheryl), and daughter Sharon (Eric) Johnson and three grandchildren Steven, Liam, and Katherine Cassell.
Bill was raised and attended schools in Kingston, Ontario, graduating from Queen’s University School of Medicine in 1958, and completed his residency at State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York in 1962. He practiced Psychiatry for many years, retiring from practice in 2015. During his professional career, he developed his own Somatic Inkblot series, focusing on body symbolism, and published a book and many papers on the subject.
Bill loved the outdoors and traveling, spending time doing favorite activities such as hunting and fishing, boating (especially sailing), walking or skijoring with his beloved dogs, and spending time with his wife and family.
