Willard Haywood was born in DeSoto, Missouri on March 31, 1920 to Clarence Richard and Stella Esther (Helvey) Haywood. He graduated from Ellington High School in Ellington, Missouri where he met and married Grace Morris in January 1940. Former occupations include managing a drug store and grocery stores, carpentry and owning small businesses. During World War II he served with the 813th Tank Destroyer Company B in Europe. He spent most of his adult life in Arizona and Colorado, moving to Port Orchard in 2006. He is survived by his three children Carl (Linda) Haywood of Thompson Falls, Montana, Elaine (Tom) Pennington of Port Orchard and Marti (Derek) Haywood-Hewgill of West Potomac, Maryland. Also surviving is his brother Manuel (Mary) Haywood of Globe, Arizona, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by wives Grace and Icy and granddaughter Jill Pennington. Services will be held at a later date in Globe, AZ.
