William Carey Balyeat

November 12, 1928 — June 24, 2018

William C. Balyeat Sr. (Bill) 89, Passed Away on June 24, 2018. He battled a Heart Condition but still lived a full life of travel, family activity and boating. He was born on in Port Angeles, Washington to Earl and Vannie Balyeat.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ann. He is also survived by 2 sons, William Jr. and Benjamin, daughter Elizabeth, 2 stepsons Michael and David, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Bill grew up in Northern California and joined the US Marine Corp. in 1952 serving during the Korean War. His professional career began at Aerojet General in Sacramento, California and continued to the Boeing Company in Seattle where he retired in 1993 as Cost Accounting Manager receiving many accolades including Employee of the Year.

Bill was foremost a spiritual man, God and family was always number one in his priorities. His compassion, courage and commitment to living a full active life was infectious; everyone loved him, his good nature and friendship.

Very active in his church he served as the Treasurer and was a Vestry member. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating life with his wife and was a member of Seabacs Boating Club serving as Commodore in 2005 & 2006. He was also a member of Viking Yacht Club and Boeing and Starduster’s Dance Clubs.

All of Bill’s family has lifelong memories of love, never ending support and wonderful life lessons.

You will be missed and will always live strong in our hearts until we meet again.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018, 11 am at St. Bede Episcopal Church, Port Orchard, with a reception following.
