Bill went home to be with Jesus on September 29 after a brief struggle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Joan, daughter, Kathy Tinoco (Joe), son Dan, three grandchildren Will (21), Steven (15), and Anna (12) and sister-in-law Carol Randall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and LouAnna, brother Jerry (Bobbi), and twin brother Bob (Sharon).
Bill attended Lincoln High School (Seattle) and graduated from the University of Washington ROTC as an Ensign in the Navy. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Joan, in June of 1960. They were happily married for 52 years. Bill served in the Navy for five years, worked for Texaco Inc. for 16 years before becoming a partner in Wilkins Distributing in 1981 in Port Orchard, Washington. He also served as Executive Director of Washington Oil Marketers Association for five years.
Bill served as an elder in Trinity Presbyterian Church in Seattle and Adventure of Faith Presbyterian Church in Port Orchard. His hobbies were being with family and friends. Bill was wise, patient, kind, and had a delightful sense of humor. He was a good listener and treated everyone the same. His subtle smile will be remembered.
Bill was a humble man of integrity. He was a good example of being kind to one another. He loved and was loved by many.
A service to worship our Lord and to celebrate Bill’s life will be held October 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Adventure of Faith Presbyterian Church, 4705 Jackson Avenue SE, Port Orchard, WA.
