William "Bill" Huntington, 76, of Port Orchard, WA passed away peacefully at home June 13, 2013. Bill was born in Sequim, WA to Carl and Mary Huntington. He married Mary Ann (Connolly) in 1961.
Bill graduated from Sequim High School in 1954 and still keeps in touch with most of his fellow graduates. He can still recite every play from his football years there. Bill then went off to spend four years becoming a beloved Washington State Cougar while joining Sigma Nu fraternity.
After graduating in Communications he went to work at KING TV as a Floor Director. While there he was talked into playing Uncle Torvald on the Stan Borenson Show.
He married Mary Ann and went to work at the Tacoma News Tribune where he stayed for ten years until he and Mary Ann opened the Tijuana Jail Restaurants. He always said those were such wonderful years. They eventually sold them all and Bill briefly became a Realtor for Spot Realty. He got hired by Kitsap County to be the first Director of the Kitsap Sun Pavilion, a job he held for several years. He retired from the Puget Sound Economic District in Seattle.
Bill's fondest memories were his 18 years he spent as a Commissioner for West Sound Utility District. Combining Water and Sewer Agencies into one and getting the new building built is one of his proudest achievements.
Bill is survived by his wife and two daughters, Christy Brady and Debby (Tim) Alexander, his grandchildren, Erica (Richard) Corbin, Daniel (Carole) Baker, and Matthew Baker.
There will be a service on June 20, 2013, 4:00pm at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
