William K. "Ken" Trader, 62, died peacefully at home in Port Orchard, Washington on April 27, 2007. He was born June 24, 1944 in Grafton, West Virginia to Elmer G. & Nellie F. (Pratt) Trader. Ken married Lori Coutts May 17, 1969 in Bremerton, Washington. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1963 and from the apprenticeship program at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton in 1973 as an unlimited Machinist. Ken worked as an unlimited Machinist at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 28 years, retiring in 1993. He also worked for 14 years with Action Services. Ken served as 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969, earning the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). He served in Vietnam, Naval Aviator Extraction, and was present during the Pueblo incident. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycling, archery, and bowling. He was a hobbyist mechanic - if it had a motor he could fix it. He loved his pets "Stubby" (dog), "Star" & "Magic (hunting dogs), and "Cat" his beloved Siamese. Surviving are his wife Lori; daughter Brenda (Aaron) Guay of Wauna, Washington; brother James (Twila) Trader of Albany, Ohio; sister Doris Zeigler of New Marshfield, Ohio; granddaughter Kayleigh Phlipot; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert & Charles. Memorial service 2:30 pm on May 16, 2007 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
