William Pruissen, 84 of Port Orchard died in Bremerton on September 20, 2010. He was born April 12, 1926 in Lake Park, Iowa to Gerrit & Sadie (Post) Pruissen. He attended Hinkley High School in Hinkley, MN and married Ardith Brooks in Port Orchard in 1961. She preceded him in death in 2006. William graduated from the apprentice program at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton as a Journeyman Machinist, retiring in 1981 as a Planner & Estimator. He also served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Machinist Union, Thousand Trails & the VFW. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing & traveling. Surviving are sons Larry (Ardis) Holman of Nampa, ID & Ron (Evelyn) Holman of San Jose, CA; daughters Sandra (Elmer) Elzie of Buckley, WA, Darlene Potter of Port Orchard, Sherry (Glen) Stenback of Gig Harbor, Pamela (Larry) Rushing of Arizona; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside Service at 1:30pm on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
