William James 'Bill' Rooms Age 78, of Port Orchard, WA, Bill passed away peacefully on July 28, 2011 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born to Curtis Henry and Elsie Augusta Rooms at the family home in Port Orchard on March 5, 1933. He attended Central and Frank Givens Grade Schools and completed Junior High and Senior High at South Kitsap, graduating in 1951. He played baseball for the Wolves during Senior High School. He enlisted in the US Army in 1952 and proudly served our country overseas during the Korean War, receiving several medals. Upon being honorably discharged in1956, he served in the US Army Reserves until retiring in 1993 as a Sergeant First Class (E-7), capping a stellar career that spanned over 40 years. Bill lived on Tracy Avenue in Port Orchard his entire life. He was an accomplished bowler and loved fishing, gardening, taking long walks around town, working on his house, and tinkering in the garage. He was a quiet, wonderful man, a true gentleman and wonderful uncle. He is survived by his sister Barbara Hamren of Port Orchard and numerous nephews and nieces. He was dearly loved and respected, and will always be remembered and truly missed.
