William Bert Stanton, 74, of Port Orchard, WA, died November 19, 2005, peacefully at home with his family around him. Bill was born May 6, 1931, in Bay City, MI, to Joseph and Evelyn (Stothard) Stanton. He married Shirley (Earll) Stanton on July 21, 1951 in Pinconning, MI. He worked as a marine interiors specialist for 45 years, starting out in Bay City and concluding his career with Jamestown Metal Marine in Florida in 1990. Bill enjoyed carpentry, traveling, fishing, camping and gardening. Survivors include his wife Shirley Stanton, of Port Orchard; sons Gary Stanton and wife Bonnie, of Port Orchard, William Stanton, Jr, of Texas, Greg Stanton and wife Brenda, of Seattle, WA, and Brad Stanton and wife Christine, of Rice, WA; daughter Cindy Petersen and husband Floyd, of Bremerton, WA; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Stanton, daughter Janet Umbinette (Stanton), and grandson Gary Beaver (Stanton). Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2005, 10:00AM to 3:00PM, at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. A ceremony will follow at 3:00PM at the Tribute Center. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
