William 'Bill' Entrekin, 80, of Port Orchard died at Cottesmore of Life Care in Gig Harbor, Washington on March 1, 1999. He was born in Easley, South Carolina on January 9, 1919 to Thompson & Amanda (Thompson) Entrekin. Bill graduated from Easley High School in Easley, South Carolina in 1937. He married Betty Young May 22, 1945 in Dodge City, Kansas. Mr. Entrekin served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was a manager for La Quinta Inns for 16 1/2 years retiring in June 1988. Previous employment included Store Manager for Cassel's Variety Store in Easley, SC and Shipping & Receiving Manager for 19 years with Lanier Manufacturing. Bill was a member of the Lions Club in Easley, South Carolina.Survivors include his wife; daughter Caroline Cordrey and husband Maynard of Port Orchard, Washington. He was preceded in death by son Phil Entrekin on March 3, 1988.Memorial Service at South Kitsap Presbyterian Church at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 4, 1999.
