Wilma Mae Gitthens, 84, of Bremerton, Washington died on August 15, 2003 at the University of Washington Medical Center from complications after heart surgery. She was born on May 10, 1919 in Stockton, California to William John and Jacobine Louise (Easton) Brown.Wilma attended Stockton High School, graduating in 1937. She married Louis Leland Gitthens on April 15, 1940 in Stockton. In addition to being a wife and mother, she was a co-founder of the sewing club in Stockton, California. She loved sewing and making teddy bears, loved cooking and baking and especially loved children. She was a Christian and attended Central Valley Christian Fellowship.Mrs. Gitthens was preceeded in death by her parents, husband and one son, John L. Gitthens. She is survived by her sons Leland Preston Gitthens and his wife Harriett of Emmett, Idaho and James Alan Gitthens of Bremerton, Washington; daughters Joan Pamela Oliver and her husband Edwin of Warsaw, Mo and Sheri Lynn Gitthens of Bremerton; Brother Robert Brown and his wife Almeda of Lodi, California; 8 Grandchildren, Edwin Jr, Tom & Mark Oliver, Pamela Selin, Russell & Debbie Gitthens, Laura Lerner and Scott Gitthens; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.Memorial services will be held at the Central Valley Christian Fellowship in Bremerton, Washington at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2003. Interment will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi California on Monday, August 25, 2003 at 2:00 P.M..Memorial Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
