Woodrow ''Woody'' Willson, 85 of Port Orchard, Washington died on February 15, 2001 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was born on May 19, 1915 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Frank & Ada (Rose) Willson. He graduated from Seattle Pacific College and the University of Washington where he also did graduate work. Woody married Evelyn Stavney on June 29, 1940 in Ballard, Washington.Mr. Willson worked for 39 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, retiring as an Analytical Chemist in 1976. He was on the Board of Trustees at Seattle Pacific University and a founding board member of Warm Beach Christian Camp & Conference Center.Surviving are his wife Evelyn; sons John Willson of Whidbey, Island, Washington, Jerry Willson of Port Orchard, and Ron Willson of Port Orchard; daughter Karen Rowe of Port Orchard; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Woody was preceded in death by sister Irene Couture of Seattle.Visitation will be February 21st & 22nd, 2001 from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Funeral service will be Friday, February 23, 2001 at 2:00pm at Grace Bible Church in Port Orchard. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. Memorials donations may be made to Warm Beach Christian Camp & Conference Center, 20800 Marine Drive, Stanwood, WA 98292.
