Zachariah Miguel Rene-Ortega , 18, of Port Orchard, left us Monday, October 2, 2017. He was born April 15, 1999 in Seattle, the son of Delilah Rene and Douglas Ortega. He attended Shorewood Christian Elementary in Seattle, Marcus Whitman Middle School, and South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard. He also attended Point Cross Christian School and Issaquah High School, each for one year. He was currently enrolled at Explorer Academy working toward completion of his high school diploma.
Zack was a dreamer, an actor, a singer, and an explorer. He loved being surrounded by nature; camping, being on the beach, or on a mountain top snow-boarding… His perfect end to a day was sitting around a bonfire sharing stories and laughs, or connecting with his on-line gaming buddies. He also loved the theater and, when in character, could make you double over in hysterics. One of his favorite experiences was participating in South Kitsap’s Madrigal Feast, a medieval costumed, musical dinner theater production. Zack enjoyed science fiction, video gaming, long boarding, music, and movies. He was, at heart, a poet and had an amazing capacity for remembering song lyrics. Electronic dance music produced by Monstercat ruled his playlist when he was younger, and metal screaming most recently. He had an affinity for the color green, knitted beanies, and all things cutting edge..
Zack is survived by his parents, Delilah Rene and Douglas Ortega, as well as stepfather, Paul Warner; brother’s, Isaiah Harris, Emmanuelle Rene-Ortega, Trey Rene-Ortega, and Thomas Rene; sisters, Lonika Wagner, Tanginique Rene-Ortega, Shaylah Rene-Ortega, Angel Rene, Bridget Rene, Blessing Rene, and Delilah (Jr.) Rene. He also leaves grandparents, Miguel and Hilda Ortega, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and five step-siblings. He was preceded by a brother, Samuel Young D'Zolali Rene
Zack was loved beyond measure and will be missed beyond measure. His charm, wit, and no-fear zest made him the most exciting companion to be with. His several best friends, who he was fiercely loyal to, as well as innumerous bereaved friends and relatives are left wondering how we will carry on without our beloved Zack-Attack.
