Zachary Kvistad

Zachary P. Kvistad, 14, died at his home in Kingston, Washington on May 15, 2006. He was born in Monterey, California on August 30, 1991 to Eric & Sharon (Avery)Kvistad. Zachary was a student at Kingston Junior High School in Kingston. He was a member of St. Olaf's parish, Boy Scouts Troop 1571, and 4H - Kingston K-9's. Zachary enjoyed fishing, skateboarding, writing poetry, dragons, his dog Otis, playing games and mentoring younger children. He liked to do odd jobs for neighbors, especially walking dogs and mowing lawns. He loved spending time with friends and family. Surviving are his parents Eric & Sharon Kvistad of Kingston; brothers Jake & Henry and sister Ruth of the family home; grandparents Jim & Kathy Avery of Poulsbo, Washington and Pauline Kvistad of Hampton, Virginia; and great-grandparents Dick & Dorothy Wright of Reedsport, Oregon and Anne Avery of Clarksville, Iowa. Visitation Monday, May 22, 2006 from 11:00 am to Noon, Rosary from 12:00 to 12:30 pm, and Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m., all at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo.
