• She lived for her family especially the 12 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids.
• She loved to cook and that’s how she would convince you to come over by cooking your favorite food and desserts.
• She loved to go out and eat too, so that we can enjoy the good food and not clean up. To enjoy each other’s company and conversations.
• Mom’s coffee cake with coffee icing was the best! She and my dad would always make our birthday cakes growing up…from scratch and decorate it with beautiful roses and scroll designs.
• Everyone always came over for the food and to learn how to cook the food the way my mom cooked it.
• She was a great travel partner, I loved having her sit in the front passenger seat while I (Glenny) drove because we’d talk and laugh so much and hard, my eyes would tear up, made the time fly by and next thing you know it…we were at our destination.
• Growing up, she would save up money so that every birthday and Christmas she would buy all/mostly all the presents on our list. She was really good at hiding it too. She would wrap the presents so fancy that you didn’t want to ruin the gift wrapping.
• If my mom had the money, she’d always buy what you wanted or needed and loved knowing that you enjoyed what she bought you.
• She loved to play mahjong and if she won she would give you money from her winnings. She won most of the time and it would be a lot of money at times.
• She loves flowers and plants in the house especially Christmas cactus and orchids.
• She loved birds. Hung bird feeders, hummingbird feeders, birdbaths to attract the birds to watch out the glass sliding door or windows.
• She has a very giving heart and if she had it, she’d give it to you.
• She was stay home mom, very proud of it.
• She went to cosmetology school in the Philippines and learned how to sew as a seamstress. She was our personal hairdresser; cutting, perming, and coloring our hair. She taught me (Glenny) and I cut my boys’ hairs.
• Growing up she also made our curtains for the house, table clothes, and clothes. People thought our clothes and house was very fancy, thinking we were rich. But we weren’t.
• She also very funny, but kind of in a dark humor. She and my dad had great stories and jokes to tell that made you laugh so hard, you’d have to run to the bathroom.
